Why wait for Halloween for a chance to get fantastical? Two parties featuring live performance, dress-up and, most notably, great DJs, look to make Saturday a whimsical and wild night indeed. Serendipity will take over a 3,600-square-foot warehouse space downtown for the second installment of its enchanted garden-themed bacchanal. DJs Carlos Niño (Dublab & Cinespia) and Anthony Valadez (KCRW) will provide the soundtrack to the festivities, and artsy amusements at every turn are promised. Sat., Oct. 17, 8 p.m.- 2.a.m. Get info and “secret” dwntwn. location at treetopproductions.org. JellyRoll’s Masquerade Ball, hosted by The Lady Tigra and benefiting ACLA (a nonprofit creating art programs for children in Echo Park and Highland Park) will serve up more theatrical treats in an undergroundish atmosphere. There’ll be live sounds from The Scientist, Cevin Key, Busdriver and Little Red Radio, plus a sweet selection of DJs: Jason Mason=2 0(Dub Club), Don Bolles (Club Ding-a-Ling), Josh Peace (Mustache Mondays), Clifton (Funky Sole Party) and more.
