While every woman is unique, transformative life stages and other shared experiences foster deep connections and a sense of relatability among all women. Menopause, a topic surrounded by much taboo, is an innate part of every woman’s life. Winona is a women-centric telehealth company, born out of a passion for accessible and high-quality women’s healthcare, that entered the digital wellness and health space in 2021 to help shape a better future without misconceptions, inadequate healthcare, and menopause shame.
“Witnessing the growth of Winona, as it reshapes the women’s health and wellness sectors, has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life,” says Ashlie Beiter, a founding member. “Winona aims to empower women, elevate existing healthcare, and support women’s wellness journeys.”
Winona recognizes the need for healthcare solutions that are unique, personalized, and accessible; currently, the company serves nearly 50,000 women, providing safe and reliable treatment and compassionate care. Winona is also committed to changing the lives of as many women as possible and strengthening community bonds. In a bold leap toward a more educated and inclusive future, Winona will host a women-forward event where all women, regardless of age, can meet, share experiences, and empower each other.
The event will take place in the countryside town of Temecula in southern California. On the 13th and 14th of April, women will have a unique opportunity to gather, exchange stories, and feel supported. For that weekend, the Oak Mountain Winery, located in the picturesque De Portola Wine Trail, will turn into a cozy, comforting, and inspirational space. Educational talks, bonding activities, and meaningful conversations, fuelled by delicious food and wine, are only a few things attendees can expect. For Winona, empowering women matters more than profits; the event will accept donations from those who can afford it, and all day-2 profits will be donated to a local high school.
Winona’s dedication to maintaining top-notch standards and unparalleled quality will be evident at the event, where board-certified physicians will share the latest women’s healthcare news and menopause treatment insights. Dr. Cathleen Brown, Medical Director, and Dr. Michael Green, Chief Medical Officer, will both be in attendance, eager to answer questions and address misconceptions and concerns about menopause and women’s healthcare.
The Temecula event isn’t Winona’s first endeavor of this kind. Inspired by the tremendous success of the company’s telehealth services and its passion for menopausal education, advice, and empathetic treatment, Winona held its first community-focused function in January. Since then, the company has curated bespoke experiences for women through events focused on empowering women in business, mother-daughter cooking classes, and menopausal fitness.
“I’m thrilled that we can provide high-quality and safe healthcare to women enduring the trials of menopause,” adds Rob Schmidt, another co-founder. “We’re banding together as a community to support women across the country.”
