Super-developer Ed Roski's plans to erect a nearly 600-acre football stadium and retail complex in Industry received a bit of a no-confidence vote today when the L.A. County Board of Supervisors recommended that Sacramento not grant Industry an exemption from a state-required environmental review of the project. Such a review would look at the proposed stadium's potential impact on communities surrounding the confluence of the 60 and 57 freeways. While the city of Diamond Bar dropped its opposition to Roski's plans earlier this year, Walnut's government and residents continue to fight the ballpark.

An L.A. Daily News blog post this afternoon quotes the Sacramento Bee as reporting that a “'mushroom bill' that would open the door for such an exemption was 'floating around the Capitol.' Mushroom bills are so named because they 'sprout in darkness,' the newspaper reported.”

As of yet, no National Football League team has publicly expressed an interest in moving to Roski's proposed stadium.
