Surprise! Radiohead's new album The King Of Limbs was slated to be released tomorrow, but like an early holiday gift, Thom Yorke and the gang dropped the new LP early. For those who purchased the “Newspaper Album” stocked with vinyl, a CD, and “many large sheets of artwork, 625 tiny pieces of artwork and a full-colour piece of oxo-degradeable plastic to hold it all together,” you have to wait until May to get your paws on it. But for those who can't wait to hear Radiohead's new sound, here is the new video for their track “Lotus Flower:”
Watch Mr. Yorke gyrate:
The album's been out for a millisecond… but the reviews are already coming in! Is music criticism a race? Should a review simply state: FIRST! like an overeager commenter?
Chuck Klosterman puts it best:
Oh and “Lotus Flower” eh? Would this be, perhaps, just maybe, influenced by L.A.'s own beatmaster Flying Lotus? Will our friend Flying Lotus appear on the new Radiohead record? We will find out shortly. The two were in cahoots last year as Thom provided vocals on Flylo's phenomenal Cosmogramma and when the album won Album of the Year at the Worldwide Awards, Yorke and Gilles Peterson even “interviewed” him on the BBC:
Coincidence? We think not.
