UPDATED: New download link added. The previous one had maxed out.

MySpace genre tags are frequently misleading, limiting or employed for ironic effect, but no trio of prefab descriptors better suits its target than that which graces the page of Mexicans With Guns: Regional Mexican, club, ghettotech.

The San Antonio-based one-man musical assault has deep ties to L.A., and makes trunk-rattling thumpers that would sound divine shivering the timbers of Low End Theory.

Some say MWG is the alter-ego of electronicist Ernest Gonzales (we reviewed his recent album), but that's a story for another day.

Innovative local label Friends Of Friends has teamed up with friendly in-town imprint Innovative Leisure to release MWG's “Me Gustó” 12-inch, out today backed by two additional bangers and a Ghosts On Tape remix.

The titular tune, which West Coast Sound has the honor of premiering, features singing from Chico Mann, another alter-ego courtesy of Antibalas guitarist Marquitos Garcia, not to mention the wild production of Mexicans With Guns, which sounds like the physical manifestation of the lyrics to Beck's “Qué Onda Guero.”
