Modern English Melts at the Echo: The British new-wave veterans are celebrating the 40th anniversary of the celebrated After the Snow album, which featured the beloved “I Melt With You” single, with a US tour which takes in the Echoplex. Creux Lies and Warsaw Pact also play.

The show was originally scheduled for last year, but was postponed for obvious reasons with the band stating, “It’s with massive regret we have to cancel our tour playing the whole of ‘After the Snow’ live for the first time. The safety of the band, the crews, and most of all the fans has to be our priority. We will be with you in 2022 and will reschedule as many concerts as possible. Stay safe and we will see you soon.”

Well, that time is now.

A press release reads, “Known for the insanely massive song ‘I Melt With You,’ Modern English is touring the U.S. this year in celebration of the 40th anniversary of their 1982 breakthrough album After the Snow (which includes ‘I Melt With You’ and was featured in the classic 1983 film Valley Girl starring a young Nicolas Cage). They’re doing three separate legs this year here in the States and will of course be performing the album front-t0-back on these stops (including other songs from the catalog).”

Modern English Melts at the Echo: The event takes place at 7 p.m. on Sunday, June 19 at the Echoplex.
