An event marking the one-year anniversary of the death of Michael Jackson will take place Saturday at the Beverly Hilton hotel. With ticket prices of $150 to $500, the public was invited to check out performances by the Chi Lites and Randy Jackson's daughter, Genevieve Jackson.

When the Weekly called, Beverly Hills police didn't seem too concerned about the Jackson faithful turning out en masse for the 7 p.m. Jackson Family Foundation event.

“As it stands now we have not been contacted by the hotel or an event coordinator requesting extra officers,” Beverly Hills police Sgt. Sean Davis told the Weekly. “We would of course have a contingency plan on our own and always be ready.”

The “King of Pop” died at his Holmby Hills home at the age of 50 on June 25, allegedly after his doctor, Conrad Murray, injected him with a dose of the powerful sedative propofol. Murray is on trial for manslaughter in connection with the case. He maintains his innocence.

The party organizer states that some of the proceeds from Saturday's tribute will go to some of Michael Jackson's favorite charities.

“The vision is to bring together Michael Jackson family members, celebrities, fans, supporters and the community to celebrate and honor his legacy,” the promoter states on its site.
