Marine veteran, law practitioner, award-winning filmmaker, and family man – Scott Pryor’s life sounds like it was written by a novelist trying to capture the Great American Story. Now, he’s getting set to drop an album of powerful tracks reflecting his incredible journey.

Born in Billings, Montana, and raised from 7 years old in Casper, Wyoming, later on living in Chicago, emerging musician Scott Pryor’s life has been as extensive, diverse, and varied as the landscapes he grew up in.

Scott took to wrestling as a kid, competing at state-level championships throughout Montana and Wyoming – and winning as many as half a dozen competitions. Fueled by his love for sports, Scott’s early life set the tone for how he’d be as an adult – restless, competitive, and with an innate need to excel.

It made sense when Scott joined the Marine Corps at 17. Here, he found a home for people like himself, where his boundless energy and need to excel could be matched.

His early adult life was defined by academia and the military. He went to college and studied Finance and Arts before pursuing a Master’s degree in Economics, then went to Law School on a partial scholarship. His academic life led him to travel everywhere, from Budapest to Moscow.

Scott started his practice in Criminal Defense at college before eventually moving into Entertainment Litigation and Wrongful Death and Serious Injury protecting the little guy.

But beyond his successes in the legal field, Scott had a passion for the arts, which initially manifested itself in filmmaking. Scott Pryor became known for writing the acclaimed films Blackbear, The List, and Tulsa. With each of these, he artfully captured the abiding American themes of family, home, and searching for meaning in modern life.

Now, Scott is gearing up to share his latest project. Having teamed up with producer extraordinaire Jan Smith (Justin Bieber, Rob Thomas, Usher), Scott is finalizing his debut album, which will be released early next year. “My vocal coach, Heidi Huelskoetter, encouraged me to pursue this project. Additionally, I am grateful for the production skills of Jan Smith (who also produces for Jesse Owen Astin); they helped bring out the best in me at Jan’s studio.”

The album is a big-hearted, stadium-sized rock record in the purest sense of ‘rock.’ Inspired by U2, Pearl Jam, and Foo Fighters, Scott has made his sound as big as musically possible, arriving with songs that demand to be listened to loudly.

Scott’s voice is heartfelt and packed with conviction in these songs. This is appropriate for a singer-songwriter with plenty to say about life, love, artistry, and what it means to exist today. The 12 songs on this album take a no-holds-barred look at American culture, the American family, and the American spirit. They’re full of hope and love but don’t avoid longing, tragedy, and social criticism.

Scott’s incredible life story informs his music; these are scorching songs written by a man who has seen it all – and has much to get off his chest….
