Mario Batali is bringing his virtual orange Crocs to Foursquare, the handy smartphone app that allows tech-savvy thieves to follow your trajectory and rob your home while you're out. So we're a little paranoid. Batali, however, isn't.

You can follow the larger-than-life restaurant impresario, who joined Foursquare last month, as he checks in and leaves tips at his favorite restaurants. Users who follow him and check into his restaurants can unlock the Mario Badge. Batali has also created specials at all 15 of his restaurants. In Los Angeles, you get a free glass of Prosecco when you check-in while ordering lunch at Pizzeria Mozza or dinner at Osteria Mozza.

We don't give a hoot about most of Foursquare's goofy and pointless badges. We do, however, like discounts. So we compiled 30 of our favorite food and drink Foursquare deals in Los Angeles.

[List after the jump. Follow LA Weekly on Foursquare.]

Check with Foursquare and with the venues to make sure the deals are still good.
