Echo Park caterer and cookbook author Jennie Cook has been having friends over to bake (vegan!) pumpkin pies for years, under the name Make It & Take It (as in, take it home and serve it to your Thanksgiving guests). Now she’s capped attendance at 100 bakers. The “Plant-Based Parties” guru and her team pre-make the vegan crusts, and then everyone comes together to make the filling, bake the pies and eat a delicious, vegan-friendly lunch. Beer from Eagle Rock Brewery and live tunes by Triple Chicken Foot help get the party going.
