Economists say it started in 2007 and ended in 2009, but we all know this thing dragged out like marathon viewing of Homeland, with just as much terror. Now traffic info service INRIX says it has proof that L.A.'s economy is back on its feet:
The company says that a comparison of L.A. traffic from April, 2012 to last April shows that congestion increased 13 percent, which represented the 24th largest move for that period in the United States.
That's a good thing?
INRIX notes that people are getting jobs again, with L.A. unemployment going from 10 percent in spring, 2012 to about 8.4 percent now.
Jamie Holter, INRIX traffic analyst, says:

Los Angeles is finally getting its feet firmly planted in the recovery … This is a slow but steady rise.
L.A. is still America's most congested city, with the third-worst traffic worldwide, according to INRIX.
Guess we'd rather be sitting in traffic on the way to our job than on the way to the unemployment office.
