Departure's got another global groover to get you grinding, Tiefschwarz of Souvenir Music/Cocoon out of Berlin. Their Euro-tastic EDM and heavy house will heat this party up until the wee hours. Expect a jolly affair filled with sexy elves and turntable art-tarts at Chicks With Decks' Naughty or Nice 2 Holiday Costume Party. Sat., Dec. 3

Hard to believe Boombox has been blasting beats and making booties bump for five years. The club offers the best hip hop, breaks & more from an impressive roster of spinners, and their anniversary is sure to be a good one. Special guest selector DJ Quik (Mad Science Recordings) takes over the decks for a big, “fonky” set that'll make you sweat. Stones Throw's MED hosts and the “Boombox Soundsystem” — Inka One (Beathackerz), Ben Diggin (Soul.Scienz), and Analog (Beathackerz) — spin too. At Grand Star Jazz Club, 943 N. Broadway. Chinatown.

More euro-disco and house in an underground environment will be offered at Making Shapes. Benoit & Sergio “live” (Visionquest, DFA) plus Mark E (UK), Qzen (40 Thieves, Permanent Vacation / Berlin) and locals Disko, Jeniluv and Alexandre round out the DJ list, while Cali selectors Oliver, Mike B, Davi, Acid Girls and Hoff spin in a second room. DFA and Dim Mak always make for a dance-happy combo and when The Juan Maclean are in the house, this will surely be the case.
