Updated at the bottom with a suspect's ID. Headline has changed. First posted at 6:03 a.m. Thursday

The U.S. Attorney's Office in Los Angeles says federal authorities are looking for a man and woman seen molesting children in child porn allegedly produced in the San Fernando Valley.

A press conference to distribute descriptions of the wanted pair was scheduled for 10:30 today.

According to a statement from the office …

… forensic analysis … places molestation in residence in the San Fernando Valley.

A criminal case against the two was to be unveiled, but for now it appears that Immigration and Customs Enforcement and other authorities involved in the situation don't know who, exactly, they are.

All the feds would say is that the couple was connected to “many collections” of child porn.

We'll keep you updated.

[Update at 11:44 a.m.]: Federal officials today said the material in question, involving a woman about 40 years old and a man about 45, is from 11 years ago.

But they still want to catch this scum.

The victim, they say, was about 13 and would now be an adult.

They're focusing more on the woman here because her face is shown in the material (the man's is blocked out):

The female has several tattoos, including a black tattoo on her right hip resembling a butterfly, a tattoo on her right shoulder blade depicting the outline of a curled up cat, a tattoo with words across the top of her left wrist and a tattoo on the upper portion of her left breast.

ICE officials say Homeland Security agents came across the first images linked to the pair in Chicago in 2007.

Claude Arnold, special agent in charge for Homeland Security Investigations:

The images in this series have been identified in connection with more than 275 child pornography investigations across the country. The reality is, every time a photo or a video of an innocent child being sexually exploited is viewed, that victim is violated again. That is why we owe it to all of the juvenile victims in these kinds of cases to work tirelessly to seek answers and, ultimately, justice.

If you think you know who these people are, ICE would like to hear from you: 1-866-DHS-2ICE.

[Update at 11:08 p.m.]: Fox 11 News tonight says a woman fitting the description of the female suspect was arrested with the help of the LAPD in the San Fernando Valley about 8:30 p.m. tonight.

[Update at 12:23 p.m.]: U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials today ID'd the arrested suspect at 52-year-old Letha Mae Montemayor.

She was charged with one count of producing child porn and was expected in court today, officials said. She was arrested outside a North Hills apartment complex at 7:30 last night, according to ICE.

Only 10 hours after her photo was circulated via the media someone called a tip line and said Montemayor might be the suspect feds were looking for. Feds also developed several “corroborating leads,” ICE stated.

Authorities say she was “identified by both her facial appearance and the presence of known tattoos.”

ICE director John Morton:

Just after ICE's nationwide plea for public assistance, five separate community tips led to the arrest of Jane Doe. This arrest would not have happened without the public's help …
