Updated at the bottom with details. First posted at 11:13 p.m. Monday.

For the second night in a row a dry ice bomb went off at LAX, police said.

This time it happened near the Tom Bradley Terminal before 8:30 p.m., which is when an LAPD bomb squad was called to the airport, Det. Gus Villanueva told the Weekly. Law enforcement at the scene discovered two other unexploded dry ice devices, he said:

No evacuations or injuries were reported, and LAX stated that there was “minimal impact to airport operations.”

Television news coverage showed that investigators were focused on a portion of tarmac near the terminal, which is where Villanueva said the exploded device might have been found tonight.

On Sunday just such a dry ice bomb went off in a restroom at Terminal 2, authorities said.

The LAPD's Criminal Conspiracy Section was investigating the bombs, Villanueva said, but so far there appeared to be no connection to terrorism.

[Update at 2:08 p.m. Tuesday]: An LAPD official we spoke to said he couldn't confirm a Los Angeles Times report indicating last night's dry ice device didn't actually go off.

He said two of four devices found had gone off, and that all of the so-called dry ice bombs were apparently found in restricted areas.
