Evanice Holz and the Señoreata team won season 15 of The Great Food Truck Race on Food Network this week, claiming the $50,000 prize. It is the first plant-based food truck to win the competition and it won by the greatest margin. The team criss-crossed Southern California as part of the nine food truck challenge.

“I am overcome with emotion that we not only won, but we made history on Food Network with our victory,” Holz tells L.A. Weekly fresh off the win. “I’m incredibly proud to have done so as the first plant-based and Latina-owned business bringing it back to our hometown of Los Angeles. This was the hardest work we’ve ever done. Grueling intense prep, selling and planning, while being filmed on a time crunch for long hours, having to start new social media from zero for the competition, and selling in cities we’ve never been to was a challenge we worked around the clock to turn into our strengths.”

“Adri, Chely and I are splitting the grand prize three ways,” she says. “My portion of the prize will go back into the Señoreata . I know a restaurant is in my future, but there are also so many things I want to do to expand our range.”

Holz and team will be at their usual spot at Smorgasburg on Sunday, July 31, as well Rosenthal Wine Bar and Patio in Malibu on Saturday, Aug. 6, and in El Segundo on Saturday, Aug. 20 at the Reunion Car and Moto Show.
