Los Angeles has always been the envy of the world for the study in contrasts it offers: surf and snow, mind and body, richest and poorest. Here we see the Ivar Theatre when it was home to burlesque — right next door to the Hollywood Library. Days before this picture was taken, Hillside Strangler Kenneth Bianchi made a call to victim Kimberly Martin from a pay phone at one of these two edifying edifices. Guess which one?
