As the dog days of summer approach, there really hasn't been much bark or bite — or trips to the beach or the water parks — due to an absence of hot weather. That's why Levitt Pavilion Pasadena Summer Concert Series is the perfect place to spend a summer evening. This week, kiddies get ready to rock on with power trio Rocknoceros. Fresh off its latest CD, Pink!, the trio will wander through the sea of kids, high-fiving, shaking a tambourine and encouraging the little ones to move and groove. The music includes Tin Pan Alley, big band, folk and tunes with a Jamaican beat, with catchy titles such as “Always Tell Your Grandma,” “The Train Song” and “Playground.” Pack a picnic or peruse the offerings of local food vendors. Parents who feel the need to imbibe can opt for beer and wine (you'll have to drink in a designated area). You can even bring Fido, if he's on a leash. So dance — even if you can't surf!
