The Los Angeles Police Department is looking for the person who fatally shot 34-year-old Johnny Thomas on a sidewalk in South Los Angeles. The shooting occurred at East 93rd Street and Avalon Boulevard around 2:20 a.m.

Police believe the gunman shot Thomas from a gray Yukon sport utility vehicle. Shortly after the shooting, the vehicle got into a crash nearby and the shooter fled. Anyone with information about the shooting should contact LAPD's Southeast Division detectives at (213) 485-4344.
