A simple yet powerful logo generally dominates, especially in the fashion industry, turning their names into universal statements of identity and belonging. But what if a single word could carry even more weight – a word that has the power to evoke a deep, personal, and spiritual connection? This is what Jesus City, a bold new clothing line, aims to do.

Founded by Toriana Winston, Jesus City isn’t just going to be another name in the fashion industry. A movement, a statement, and for many – a proclamation of faith. The inspiration behind the brand is simple yet profound – One word is all you need – Toriana says with a passion that is palpable. For her, that word is ‘Jesus.’
Toriana’s connection to this word is deeply personal. “I’ve always had this goosebump effect when hearing the word Jesus or when saying it,” she shares. It’s this powerful, visceral reaction that she hopes to resonate with a wider audience through her line of unisex, faith-based apparel. “I didn’t want to include any Bible verses or additional designs,” the owner explains. “Just the name – Jesus. That felt right.”
The brand’s demographic is broad, reflecting the universal appeal of its message. While the apparel naturally attracts people of faith, Jesus City’s designs are meant to transcend age, gender, and even religious affiliation. The most compelling aspect of Jesus City is its embrace of modern streetwear. While the founder could’ve taken the traditional route, designing church attire or faith-based formal wear, she chose streetwear because it’s both stylish and comfortable. “Whether you’re in church or on the street, you can wear Jesus City,” she says, underscoring the brand’s versatile, streetwear-inspired aesthetic. “I grew up having to dress up for church, and I always found it uncomfortable. Now, I just want to be comfortable. And streetwear is not only comfortable but also stylish.”
But Jesus City is more than just a fashion statement. It’s a brand with a mission. A significant part of the founder’s vision is to give back to the community. She is already reaching out to local churches to establish partnerships that will help her support those in need. “Giving is very important to me. I want to make sure that as we grow, we’re also helping others.”
When asked about what she wants people to feel when they wear Jesus City apparel, Toriana doesn’t hesitate: “Pride! I want them to feel proud to wear their faith on their sleeve. I want it to start conversations, to be a statement of who they are.”

For Toriana, Jesus City is more than just a business venture; it’s a calling. “I got tired of not seeing Jesus represented in the same way that the renowned brands are. We wear these famous brands every day without thinking twice. Why not wear something that represents our faith just as proudly?”
Toriana is excited about the future. “It’s been a long time coming, but the time is right,” she says, her enthusiasm infectious. “I’ve thought about this for years, and it kept returning to me. I knew I had to do it. Seeing someone walk down the street wearing Jesus City? That would be a dream come true.”
