Santa Monica's Main St. institution Circle Bar reo Santa Monica's Main St. institution Circle Bar reopened May 22 under new ownership from local restaurateurs Mark and Addie Van Gessel, the team behind Hinano Cafe and Tavern on Main. Originally established in 1949, Circle Bar evolved from a neighborhood watering hole into a fixture of Santa Monica’s nightlife and music scene. Over the decades, its dimly lit atmosphere, packed dance floor, and oval-shaped bar attracted everyone from artists and musicians to locals, with late-night drop-ins including Jim Morrison, Truman Capote, Anthony Kiedis, Sean Penn and Robert Downey Jr. The reimagined venue keeps the same floor plan it has had since 1949 while introducing upgrades to sound, lighting, and production. A new elevated DJ booth, “The Halo,” puts music at the center of the room, supported by a new sound system, enhanced lighting, and visual programming. The refreshed cocktail menu blends Circle Bar’s classic dive-bar spirit with new additions, alongside late-night offerings and daily Power Hour specials. @circlebar_sm Read the story and see the photos thru @laweekly ✍️ @michelestueven

Thousands descended on West Hollywood Park June 5– Thousands descended on West Hollywood Park June 5–7 as OUTLOUD Music Festival once again served as the centerpiece of WeHo Pride. The three-day celebration brought together pop stars, rising artists, and LGBTQ+ community members for a weekend packed with music and memorable moments. JADE closed out the festival on Sunday after joining the WeHo Pride Parade earlier in the day, while The Pussycat Dolls delivered one of the weekend's biggest highlights with a rare concert appearance that culminated in a crowd-pleasing performance of "Don't Cha" alongside dozens of queer performers. Ashlee Simpson welcomed Lance Bass for a surprise duet, Melanie C treated fans to a Spice Girls classic, and performances from Ava Max, Jess Glynne, Confidence Man, Baby Tate, SUCCUBUS, Jae Stephens, and many more kept the energy peaking all weekend long. @officiallyoutloud

Adapt or die. With season three of AMC's “Intervie Adapt or die. With season three of AMC's “Interview with the Vampire” re-titled “The Vampire Lestat,” the perspective shifts from Louis de Pointe du Lac to the self-aggrandizing, life-of-the-party Lestat de Lioncourt as he taps into his musical prowess and ascends from immortal being to full-on, frilled-out rock star. Costume department head Lex Wood spearheaded Lestat’s look for the new season. Inspired by Anne Rice’s description of Lestat “trying on new glittering dream skins,” Wood and the creative team embraced a much more vivid world, with a focus on color, glam, punk, and rock influences. “We wanted to avoid too much of the trope of having vampires always in black,” says Wood. From leather pants and baby blue eyeshadow to a raven-black cashmere cape and chunky boots emblazoned with “Hate Me,” every look reflects Lestat’s musical freedom and transformation. @amcsannerice
