We've heard of families that do everything together, but this is ridiculous. Los Angeles police report that a couple took a 6- and 4-year-old along for an alleged, early morning robbery spree in the San Fernando Valley Monday.

The suspects hit a Rite Aid at 13333 Riverside Drive in Sherman Oaks at 2:45 a.m. and a CVS Pharmacy at 17320 Ventura Blvd.at 3:00 a.m. before making a fatal error and targeting the International House of Pancakes at 15635 Ventura Blvd. in Encino a few minutes later. Police say a pair of California Highway Patrol officers had just walked in the door when an employee pointed out the male suspect and said he had a gun.

By that point the man had slinked out and hopped into a getaway car being driven by a woman. CHP officers didn't know the children were inside and gave chase. It was a high-speed sprint that ended quickly when the CHiPs used the “pit intervention technique” — a.k.a. they plowed into the rear quarter of the suspect vehicle — and spun the alleged robbers into submission.

The pair was identified as William Farag and Nadia Redoble, both 28 of Van Nuys. They were each been booked on suspicion of robbery and were jailed in lieu of $150,000. The District Attorney's office will also be asked to consider child endangerment charges. The children were taken into protective custody.
