Sure, you've made your New Year's resolution to cut back on your alcohol consumption … but, as we all know, timing is everything. So, you can either forget your resolve, or put it on hold, just until the day after you head out to Drink:Eat:Play's International Wine Festival. You and your plus-one, in the cushy confines of a hotel ballroom, can taste dozens of international wines supplied by dozens of distributors, including Southern Wine, Regency Wine, WJ Deutsch & Sons, Boss Wines, Kermit Lynch, Constellation and Southern Starz. The breadth of distributors means you'll try varietals from Italy, Germany, Brazil, South Africa, Spain, Australia, Israel, New Zealand, several South American wineries and, yes, bien sur, France. A little cheese, some warm bread and just the perfect assortment of desserts pair nicely with the day. And should you sample more than a sip, you can always get a room in which to sleep it off. Yes, it's New Year's redux, but it's such a fragrant, full-bodied sacrifice, and you can jump right back on the wagon on Monday!
