At least two people were stabbed early this morning at Icon Ultra Lounge, a relatively new club near LA Live downtown, police tell the Weekly.

Police could not elaborate for us when we asked about the extent of the injuries. But City News Service reports that there were four victims, with three hospitalized in critical condition and one said to be “stable.”

It happened …

… about 1:50 a.m. today outside the venue at 1248 S. Figueroa St., LAPD Officer Venus Hall tells the Weekly:

We had victims exiting the nightclub and a suspect walked up and started punching one of the victims and other people started fighting. And then we had another suspect produce a sharp object and stab one of the victims, then another.

It just looks like a fight that ended with two people getting stabbed.

City News says one victim was at the scene but then three others showed up at County-USC Medical Center.

It looks like the club, which boasts that it has 25,000 square feet and can hold 1,500 people, making it one of the largest such venues in the city, was premiering a new weekly party called “Presidential Thursdays.”

A post on its Facebook page said Def Jam rapper YG (profiled last summer by LA Weekly's Rebecca Haithcoat) was scheduled to perform some of his songs, including, “I'm A Thug.” YG stands for “Young Gangsta.”

He re-tweeted this last night:

The event was open to those 18 and older, according to the post, although the club does serve alcohol for the 21-and-up crowd.

No arrests were reported.
