The San Diego personal injury attorney, who has had lifelong legal ambitions, cites her faith and customer service experience as pillars in her firm.
Despite having no family members in the legal profession, Attorney Ashley Rawlins (aka Car Crash Ash) has known she wanted to be an attorney since she was six years old. Her passion for advocacy and standing up for what is right has followed her throughout her life, from her years of waitressing in the restaurant industry to becoming a licensed attorney.
Now the founder of Rawlins Law, Rawlins Law Accident & Injury Attorneys strives to help clients across the state of California, regardless of what their circumstances may be.
Early Years in Customer Service
Before becoming an attorney, Ashley Rawlins spent over a decade waitressing and working in customer service within the food industry. These experiences, while seemingly atypical of the work a lawyer does, helped shape how she would eventually work with legal clients.
“I had to handle situations with compassion and grace towards the customer,” the lawyer shares.
Long hours bussing tables taught her that people come from different walks of life. These lessons, and the sense of determination she gained from them, would give her the foundation to complete law school.
Discovering Her Passion in the Legal System
After passing the California bar and becoming a licensed attorney, Rawlins began working with a personal injury law firm in Orange County. However, Rawlins says that she learned early on that the job wasn’t a proper fit, and for that reason, she gave her notice without a second job lined up.
“This experience made me realize that I do not want to work for another attorney,” Rawlins shares. “I want to do things the right way, all the time, and be in 100% control of my own firm.”
According to Rawlins, she works on every single case that comes through her firm and takes great pride in what she does. Her goals are to help as many people as possible and to do what is right, no matter what type of case she is working on. She often takes cases other attorneys decline and says she works diligently to resolve them.
Helping People Across California
While her firm is based in San Diego, Ashley Rawlins accepts personal injury cases across California, emphasizing honesty and compassionate representation as part of the ethical framework that shapes Rawlins Law.
“When I started the firm, I did not want a typical cliché tagline, but I wanted something that meant something to me personally,” Rawlins says. “I started to look for a Bible verse that encompassed what my firm would stand for, and that is when I selected Micah 6:8, which states: ‘Do justly, love mercy, walk humbly with your God.’”
With her background in criminal justice and political science, as well as the title of Super Lawyers Rising Star, Ashley Rawlins says she is dedicated to helping her clients and doing what is right for them, no matter the size or complexity of their case. At the end of the day, she says that she stands against big corporations and insurance companies and fights for her clients at every stage of the process.
“The client’s interest is always #1,” Rawlins affirms.
