L.A.'s hit-and-run epidemic crashed the tony Westside last night when a 33-year-old man was fatally struck by a Jeep near the Four Seasons hotel, police said.

It happened north of Third Street on Doheny Drive in an area that borders Beverly Hills and West Hollywood. According to the LAPD …

… the victim was crossing Doheny “outside a marked crosswalk” about 10:25 p.m. when the northbound Jeep hit him. The LAPD states:

The driver of the vehicle failed to stop, render aid, identify himself or herself.

The man was pronounced dead despite the efforts of L.A. Fire Department paramedics to save him, cops said.

The victim's name was withheld so that loved ones could be notified first, according to the LAPD.
