Gypsum Give It Up for Foals: The members of L.A. post-rock band Gypsum told us about their shared Foals experience.

Anna Arboles: I think the best show we saw together was Foals at the Wiltern. It’s almost impossible to get all our schedules in sync, but Foals has always been a huge influence on the band so it was kind of required attendance. Except we all bought tickets in different tiers, so I don’t think we even hung out that night. I stood right under the mezzanine most of the night and I remember (lead singer and guitarist) Yannis disappearing from the stage, and then reappearing at the top of the Mezz, and then crowd surfing/staging diving from the Mezz into the GA. That type of shenanigans gives me heart palpitations now but I love rock & roll so all’s well that ends well.

Jessy Reed: Yes this show was so fun! Sapphire and I were in the pit and we crowd surfed together. It was my first time doing so, ever. And still the only time I’ve done it. Was a special time. That band is so good.

Sapphire Jewell: Foals at the Wiltern was one of the best live shows I’ve ever been to. They were awesome and the crowd was really great too. At one point toward the end of the set I decided to crowd surf but when I returned I realized my phone had slipped out of my pocket. I was scrambling through the crowd trying to find it on the ground and eventually gave up hope because it was impossible to see in the dark. I went back to my friends after giving up. A few songs later someone appeared with my phone and handed it to me! They’d seen me looking for it and found me in that huge crowd. I was so surprised I thought I’d never see it again. So overall, a great show with awesome fans.
