Time For Tea: Madonna Is Pop Music's Reigning LGBTQ Ally

Last weekend, the 30th annual GLAAD Media Awards continued in New York City where pop icon Madonna received the Advocate For Change Award. The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation held its Los Angeles ceremony last month, where Beyoncé and Jay-Z were honored with the similar Vanguard Award. Madonna discussed the first gay man she met, her ballet teacher Christopher Flynn- the first person to tell her she was beautiful and take her to her first gay club. From then on, she 's had a strong comradery with the LGBTQ community that's lasted decades. Her gay friends and fans made her feel like she wasn't alone and that it was ok to be different....

Time For Tea: Joe Biden's Presidential Bid and the LGBTQ Community

Last week, former Vice President Joe Biden finally made his official announcement that he's running for president in 2020. He now joins the ranks of other leaders in the Democratic Party running for President including California Senator Kamala Harris, Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren and out Mayor of South Bend, Indiana, Pete Buttigieg. Biden has been the front-runner for the Democratic nomination since even before his announcement, so I thought it would be worthwhile to take the time to dive into his history with the LGBTQ community....
