Nestled within the historic Mayan Theatre on February 18, 2024, starting at 9pm the gathering promises a night steeped in vampiric mystique and gothic sophistication, drawing cues from Venetian Masquerades and Vampire Courts, all pulsating to the beat of a rock concert and the finesse of a burlesque cabaret.
Father Sebastiaan, the creative genius, and renowned figure in vampire culture, ensures each iteration of the ball surpasses the last. The 2024 event, building on the success of its predecessors, showcases the celebrity emcee Kristin Bauer van Straten, famed for her role in “True Blood.” Alongside her, Patti Negri, known for her role on Discovery’s “Ghost Adventures,” will host, lending her expertise in the paranormal to the night’s mystical experience.
Originating in the ’90s in New York, the Endless Night Vampire Ball has blossomed into a worldwide celebration, honoring the vampire subculture in major cities like Berlin, Paris, Salem, and New Orleans. Father Sebastiaan’s influences as a Fangsmith and his seminal work, “Black Veils: The Vampire Lexicon,” have been pivotal in shaping this community. Past events are celebrated for their lavish and hedonistic atmosphere, brimming with darkwave music, burlesque shows, and a diverse mix of vampires and cosplayers.
Attendees are encouraged to dive into the theme, with a dress code that highlights formal vampire, baroque, Victorian, steampunk, and extravagant New Orleans Venetian Carnivale styles. Masques and fangs enhance the evening’s enigma and are highly encouraged. The ball also features a signature cocktail, “The Bloodbath,” and a best-dressed competition, celebrating the most extravagantly dressed guests.
