Gary Clark Jr. at the Fonda Theater

This past weekend The Fonda Theater hosted Gary Clark Jr. to multiple sold out performances. The Friday, December 4th show included support act and San Diego native, Andra Day. Day’s soulful voice entranced the crowd with unbelievable range, emotion and immense strength. A perfect fit for the bill, her stunning performance made the anticipation for Clark that much more palpable. Clark took the stage quietly, slightly reserved and masked in silhouette allowing the ring of his guitar to announce his arrival. The fans, eager to be in Clark’s wake, willingly rode every note as he dripped blues all over the stage. There’s no doubt Clark deserves to go down in the history books, a true legend in the making.
