The rise of spiritual awareness sparked an outflux of self-growth notions and personal development initiatives, encouraging people to take a deep dive into themselves to discover their truest purpose. For Christine Dorcelus, the path to finding her calling was abundant in adversity, internal conflicts, and stripping it back to core values.
Now, a dedicated success strategist and singer committed to igniting interpersonal growth and emotional development, Christine’s professional journey began in the healthcare realm, where she worked as a nurse for 15 years. During that time, Christine prioritized helping high-achieving professionals navigate the nuanced territory of work-life balance, guiding them toward personal and professional fulfillment.
Though her venture into healthcare was driven by an insatiable desire to uplift others and leave an eternal positive impact, Christine, overwhelmed with long working hours and the industry’s inherent mental strain, found herself struggling. The pivotal moment came when she realized that, despite achieving one milestone after another, from financial independence and purchasing a dream house to being in a healthy relationship, Christine never felt truly fulfilled.
“I was climbing the career ladder, breaking one glass ceiling after another, and, on the surface, I was thriving. But ticking these societal boxes wasn’t bringing me personal satisfaction. I kept wondering, ‘Why am sinking into depression when I’m getting everything I had prayed for?’” she shares. “I became physically, emotionally, and spiritually sick, and I knew I needed to get better to genuinely enjoy life.”
The crippling sense of drifting through life with no direction led Christine to walk away from everything she had known, at first – unintentionally. With a void in her soul growing bigger every day, Christine sought professional help. When she realized that – even though she was regularly taking prescribed medication and following the doctor’s orders – her mental state was still in the abyss of depression, Christine attended therapy.
That decision symbolized Christine’s life turning around, with the first therapist she chose complimenting her needs and struggles perfectly. After attending a few sessions, Christine was equipped with the tools to start changing the trajectory of her life intentionally, starting with letting go of things that hindered her progress. “My therapist told me to start removing things and let my core shine. I broke up with my boyfriend, left a well-paying job, and moved to Tampa Bay. Soon after, I felt like I was capable of achieving greatness,” she adds.
Though that first step to happiness enriched Christine’s life beyond expectations, she still felt a sense of emptiness. Her journey to finding the solution resumed, with Christine attending more therapy sessions and even trying Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. When she saw no positive results, she realized that it was her spiritual life that needed healing.
Since that moment of epiphany, Christine shifted career paths, found a passion within the creative landscape of music pursuing her artistic dreams, and started vigorously, presently, and intentionally appreciating life. Now, she practices targeted breathwork, elevates her knowledge and hosts retreats to help healthcare professionals, caregivers and nurturers. Beyond mental peace, the spiritual awakening ignited physical changes, soothing Christine’s once debilitating period pains and helping her tap into her unfettered feminine energy, creativity, and sexuality.
In 2017, she established Christine Dorcelus Coaching, an inspiring healing and coaching center dedicated to empowering clients and helping people unlock their fullest potential. With a focus on women and nurses, Christine is committed to guiding others as they transcend the confines of societal expectations, shatter the boxes they have been forced to fit into and embrace their unbridled desires. “Once you become spiritually aware, you can truly realize how unlimited you are and pursue any ambition you have, just as I have done in becoming an artist. Hence why I carry my spiritual name, Jursula, as my artist name,” shares Christine.
“What I realized throughout my path is that people, especially women, are limited by denial and fear. Society teaches us to be kind and polite, get married, and have children. It’s not easy to want something else from life, but the only way to achieve a pure sense of happiness is to accept and follow what our hearts and souls want,” Christine shares. “Before, achievements and success would make me feel heavier. Now, I can live freely, unapologetically, and happily. Spirituality is the key to deeper understanding and the only thing standing between you and a lifetime of fulfillment.”
