What if we told you that you could grab some free gas in the L.A. area tomorrow?

What's the catch? would probably be your response. And there is a catch: The free gas is diesel. For the most part. Actually there is a way you can fill-up on some non-diesel:

If you drive an Audi.

That's because the folks behind the fine German brand are coming to a 76 gas station in Santa Monica tomorrow to celebrate the “clean diesel movement.”

Not only can Audi owners get free gas — whether or not they drive a diesel model — but owners of contemporary “clean diesel” cars by other makers can also vie for a free fill-up, Audi says.

A spokeswoman for the event tells us:

All Audi drivers (both TDI and gasoline) will receive a complimentary tank of fuel and be escorted through an “express lane” where their vehicle will be hand detailed by an Audi pit crew.

Additionally, folks with “non-Audi diesel vehicles” can get their gas while supplies last, according to the publicist.

Audi is promoting its TDI-line of diesel vehicles as an “environmentally-friendly alternative fuel option.”

It happens 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. tomorrow at the 76 station at 1776 Cloverfield Blvd. in Santa Moncia.
