67-Year-Old Woman Killed in Street Race Collision near Buena Vista Drive

MERCED, CA (November 1, 2022) – Wednesday afternoon, Frances Palm was fatally struck in a t-bone accident on M Street.

The crash happened around 1:35 p.m., near Buena Vista Drive.

According to video surveillance footage, two street racers were traveling at high speeds in the area. Meanwhile, Palm was heading east on Buena Vista in a Nissan Altima when one of the street racers, a Chevy Camaro, struck the driver’s side of her vehicle.

First responders arrived and extricated the driver from her severely damaged vehicle. Despite life-saving efforts, medics pronounced 67-year-old Palm dead at the scene.

At this time, police have not made any arrests. However, authorities have described the involved street racers as two men from Merced.
