If you’ve been wondering what’s going on behind the fences of the old Robinsons Department Store space on Wilshire Blvd. in Beverly Hills,  The Beverly Hilton has unveiled a first look at the historic hotel’s transformation ahead of their  70th Anniversary this month.

Since 1955, The Beverly Hilton has remained a symbol of LA glamour, home to the annual Golden Globe Awards, Clive Davis Grammy Gala, and many red-carpet events and Hollywood moments.  The hotel is undergoing a transformative, multi-million-dollar renovation as part of the One Beverly Hills development.

Starting this month, there will be a variety of vintage-themed experiences and immersive anniversary activations, like the restored 1950s film photobooth by Photomatica and themed ‘Decades Drinks’ at CIRCA 55, as well as era-inspired dinners and collectible art by local artist Henry Kaye.

Starting on Tuesday, Aug. 12 The Beverly Hilton will serve up decade-inspired cocktails,  from a creamy oat milk Mai Tai as a nod to the 1950’s and  Trader Vic’s that lived on the property, to a bold herbal gin martini for the swinging ’60s, and a playful 1970s-style Tequila Sunrise with a summer twist as a sweet sorbet.

Set for completion in 2027, The Beverly Hilton’s top-to-bottom transformation will be the most expansive in its history – introducing a refreshed lobby, a reimagination of the Aqua Star Pool that has hosted years of Academy Award luncheons, redesigned guest rooms and public spaces, and brand-new dining and retail venues.

Activations will be announced on a rolling basis throughout the year, including a limited edition Beverly Hilton reserve America whiskey released in partnership with Beverly Spirits, a blend of 60% bourbon and 40% rye, bottled specially at 100 proof. The hotel has also partnered with local artist Henry Kaye for a curated collection of visual tributes, illustrations, and designs that honor the property’s mid-century design.

To kick off the anniversary celebrations, The Beverly Hilton has installed a historic fragment of the Golden Globes red carpet in the lobby for selfies, offering guests a glimpse into the hotel’s long-standing role as part of Hollywood history.

The hotel is also offering an exclusive series of culinary experiences hosted in the hotel’s presidential suite. The invite-only ‘Decades Dinners’ will feature intimate, chef-curated menus inspired by decades of the hotel’s 70-year history with era-specific cocktails and vintage-inspired tablescapes.

And for those who are looking for the ultimate nostalgic Beverly Hills experience, the 70th Anniversary Package will offer a luxurious stay in a Penthouse Suite complete with a vintage car rental from Hollywood Classic Cars and a seven-course Decades Dinner inspired by the hotel’s archival menus.

The project forms part of the wider One Beverly Hills masterplan being led by Cain International, which has owned The Beverly Hilton since 2018. The 17.5-acre destination will bring together ultra-luxury residences, two next-generation hotels, a private members’ club, curated dining and retail, and ten acres of botanical gardens and open space, with The Beverly Hilton remaining a cultural and architectural anchor of the district.
