Victorville punks Face to Face put out the Hold Fast: Acoustic Sessions album last year, though it’s been three years since the Protection studio album. They’re apparently working on new material, and they’re playing a handful of SoCal dates on the current tour, so we caught up for a very brief chat…

L.A. WEEKLY: Hold Fast came out last year but are there plans afoot for new original studio material to follow up Protection?

TREVER KEITH: We’ve been working on a bunch of new material. We hope to start recording a new record in the beginning of 2020.

The world has gone to shit since 2016 — do you think that will affect the writing?

I write about the world I see. So yes

Two dates in SoCal at the Observatory [as well as one in Riverside] — will you mix the sets up?

One is in Santa Ana and one is in San Diego, so no probably not.

Are you looking forward to playing with Lagwagon? Destroy Boys?

Yeah.

When those shows are done, what’s next for the band?

The Salty Dog Cruise with Flogging Molly in November, then recording in early 2020 and likely a bunch of new show scheduled for the rest of 2020.

Face to Face plays with Lagwagon and Destroy Boys at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 26 at the Observatory. And at 8 p.m. on Friday, October 25 at The Concert Lounge.
