The nightlife re-name game continues as Hollywood Boulevard says so long to Ivar and hello to Façade. (Perfect name for a club, right?) After a brief closure and remodel, Rick Calamaro’s dance space has reopened Fridays under Joe Joe Promotions and Hardball Entertainment, serving up the raucous hip-hop and rock mixes of seasoned spin-ster DJ Cool-Whip. This week, KIIS-FM comes to the party and DJ Squiggs joins the ’Whip on the decks, so expect the sounds to be big on radio hits and club bangers. Joe Joe tells us the new room is “very Miami super-club” — or, for an L.A. reference, like “Element meets Nacional” with two levels of sleek, sexy décor. These promoters bring in quite the diverse crowd too: Aside from the weekend-warrior contingent, there are casual clubsters, flashy B-boy types and, most noticeably, a hefty helping of halter-topped Hollywood hotties. 6356 Hollywood Blvd., Hlywd.; Fri., March 16 (and every Friday), 9 p.m.–2 a.m.; over 21; see JoeJoepromotions.com for RSVP and more info.
