It’s the most significant cannabis weekend Los Angeles has seen in a long time and we’ve got all the big happenings if you want to get out on the town!
Friday, May 13
The Woods Grand Opening 2 p.m. – 10 p.m.
First up on Friday will be the opening of Woody Harrelson’s new West Hollywood dispensary The Woods. Woody will celebrate the occasion with the Mayor of West Hollywood, Lauren Meister, at noon. A bit later in the day will feature a mixer for the sheriff and fire department from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Following the mixer, the shop will be open for business!
Green Street Festival Night One – 6 p.m.
Friday will also host the Green Street Festivals kickoff event, “An Evening With ‘Gary & Harry’, The Quickest Minds of Our Generation.” Mike Glazer will host the evening. It also will feature a bubble hockey tournament. Brands confirmed include Gusto Green, Zanna, 4Front Brands, Bloom, Boveda, Brothers Broadleaf, Cannacraft, Dutchie, FLWRS, Hemper, The Jungle Boys, Leaflink, Pamos, OCB, Originals, Supherb, and Wax Nax.
Saturday, May 14
Green Street Festival – Noon to 8 p.m.
In addition to all the cannabis brands in town for Green Street Festival, expect a food court and trucks featuring Yeastie Boys Bagels, Petit Peso, Benihibachi & Afters Ice Cream. There also will be a Nail Salon by The Nail Bar, Tattoos by Little Annie Motel Tattoo Parlo, and Water courtesy of Liquid Death. Inside the actual Green Street building, you’ll find a special menu curated by Gusto Green and Uncle Paulie’s, a Hyperwolf Studios smoking lounge with art installations, and a preview of Green Street’s forthcoming epic rooftop smoking lounge.
Green Street Festival’s events over at the Majestic Downtown, two blocks away at 650 S. Spring St., will run from 1 p.m. to 11 p.m., and will feature activations from some of the biggest names in cannabis. The musical lineup of Dam Funk, Harry Mack, and Juicy J will start at 7 p.m., with a Gary Vee keynote worked in.
The Emerald Cup Awards Show
The greatest cannabis competition in the world makes its long-awaited move to Los Angeles in hopes of connecting The Emerald Triangles legacy farmers with the biggest cannabis market in the world. In addition to picking this year’s best pot, The Emerald Cup will be awarding Woody Harrelson its lifetime achievement award that was renamed in honor of Willie Nelson. You can expect plenty of surprise guests, too. You’ll be able to catch the Awards Show when it airs next month on Altar’d TV.
Rage with Jimi on Friday!
While my adventure in town this weekend will focus on The Emerald Cup and Green Street Festival, I’m also hosting office hours on Friday at Masonic’s on Fairfax from noon to 2 p.m. If you’ve been wanting to get your pot in L.A. Weekly, this will be a great chance to show it off.
And then later Friday evening, I’m hosting Solventless Against The System. It’s a prison reform fundraiser. We’ll be smoking a lot of hash, and then donating all the ticket money and leftover production funds to the good folks at Families Against Mandatory Minimums, who aren’t officially involved with the party but said they could take the cash!
