Elizabeth Taylor, R.I.P.

Keith PlocekMarch 23, 2011

Elizabeth Taylor died last night at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. She was 79. We don't even know where to begin eulogizing the woman, and we'll have more to say soon, but we'll start by recommending Michael Musto's obit in our sister paper Village Voice.

We've also got a gallery of Liz Taylor's 12 most iconic roles.

Eleven years after delivering one of the most monu Eleven years after delivering one of the most monumental performances in Coachella history, Kaskade (Ryan Raddon) returned to close out the 2026 festival. In 2015, his main-stage set drew more than 90,000 fans and helped cement electronic music’s place on major festival stages. This year, he returned with his live concept Origin // — featuring a towering monolith, pyro, and custom visuals, all brought to life by a relentless setlist that kept fans moving nonstop. Over a three-decade career, Kaskade has performed more than 5,000 shows across 75 countries. An eight-time Grammy nominee, he has blended his sound with emotional storytelling, all while maintaining a faith-centered lifestyle. His 2025 album “undux,” shaped by real-life upheaval including the loss of his Pacific Palisades community in the LA wildfires, expanded into the Origin // experience. Kaskade returns for Coachella Weekend 2, and had plenty of new music on the way. “This return feels like we all earned it together,” he says. “It's a celebration and acknowledgement that when a person works hard, is surrounded by people with integrity and courts an audience that understands the art, sometimes it just works out.” @kaskade Read the story and see the photos thru @laweekly ✍️ @boyface_

Framework In The Desert marked its fifth anniversa Framework In The Desert marked its fifth anniversary with three nights of underground electronic music in the Coachella Valley, transforming the Atlantic Aviation hangar in Thermal into a dance music haven. Running April 10 to April 12, the event hosted over 10,000 partiers, selling out Friday and Saturday before the weekend began. The LA-based producer delivered top-tier production and an A-list lineup of DJs from the festival’s stages, letting partiers dance an extra six+ hours into the night. Inside, the dancefloor was packed wall to wall, with a stage produced by Long Feng Art Car, flanked by animatronic dragons, high-wire performers, and a sea of lights and lasers. Friday featured a Disclosure DJ set before KETTAMA B2B Prospa closed. Saturday featured Boys Noize, Mochakk, and Max Dean B2B Luke Dean. Sunday wrapped with Marlon Hoffstadt and Armin van Buuren. What began as a desert afterparty five seasons ago has now become a festival fixture. @thisisframework See the full gallery and recap @laweekly ✍️ @boyface_
