Teleferic Barcelona‘s market concept El Merkat has opened at the Brentwood restaurant’s location. Inspired by the food and atmosphere of Spain’s Costa Brava region, offerings include Spanish wine, imported Spanish goods like olives, olive blends, and tinned fish, as well as charcuterie and cheese, homemade sangrias and Teleferic’s signature paella kits. There’s a private dining room for special events and authentic tapas and paellas curated by Teleferic’s Executive Chef Oscar Cabezas. The $28 Saturday and Sunday bottomless brunch features Teleferic red wine sangria, Barceloneta sparkling wine sangria, and spicy white wine sangria.

Just in time for National Pizza Day on Friday, Feb. 9, Palihouse West Hollywood has partnered with the cult favorite pizza crew from Doughbrik’s on a new collaboration at the hotel’s West Third Street location in West Hollywood. Starting today, Doughbrik’s will man the hotel’s take-out window facing West Third Street with a signature menu featuring four of their most popular offerings – cheese pizza, hot honey pepperoni, Hawaiian pizza and spicy vodka pasta – in its signature Doughy or Tavern-style pizza prep for take-out or to enjoy in Palihouse West Hollywood’s Lobby Lounge, Café & Bar. The Doughbrik’s window will operate Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday nights also will play host to Slices & Sips in the Lobby Bar, featuring a $25 personal pizza and a glass of natural wine combo.

National Pizza Day at Maple Block Culver City

Maple Block Culver City will celebrate National Pizza Day on Friday, Feb. 9, with collaborations with pizza chef Michele Galifi. Chef/owner Daniel Wienstock and pitmaster Rudy Suazo worked with Galifi to create four pizzas that reflect the best of what Maple Block offers combined with Chef Galifi’s Neapolitan-style crust and cooked in his wood-fire portable pizza oven.

With the fall of the Sweet Lady Jane bakery, LA has been left in dire need of a new berry cake. SusieCakes has stepped up to fill the void with the debut of a new menu item – Susie’s Fresh Berry Cake. Once a limited-time seasonal summer offering, it is now a permanent menu item available year-round at select SusieCakes bakeries throughout Los Angeles. Locations include Brentwood, Marina Del Rey, Manhattan Beach, Mid-City La Brea, Woodland Hills, Studio City and Pasadena. The Madagascar vanilla sponge cake is filled with fresh strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and blackberries and frosted with fresh whipped cream. 

Sommelier Rebecca Rose Phillips will host Fast Food Fridays at Vintage Wine + Eats at her cozy Studio City wine bar every week during February. On Friday, Feb. 9, wine pairings will accompany her house-made crunch wrap super supreme with Chicken Nuggz on Feb. 16 and ⁣animalistic French fries on Feb.23. 

Botanica’s first Sunday Supper of the year on Feb. 18 will feature a Moroccan-inspired dinner created in collaboration with spice vendor Mehdi Boujrada of Villa Jerada. The menu includes winter vegetables and red chermoula with Moroccan Nigella bread, shaved carrot and fennel salad with harissa, almond and sultanas, yellowtail crudo with preserved lemon, roasted chicken with saffron, ginger, preserved lemons, harissa, olives and fennel, and a Moroccan saffron olive oil cake, with a citrus salad with pistachios and Medjool dates for dessert. Dinner is $70 per person; vegan and gluten-free menus are available by advance request.
