49-Year-Old Passenger Pronounced Dead after Three-Vehicle Collision near Farm-to-Market Road 1925

EDINBURG, TX (April 29, 2024)Edgar Ivan Garcia died Saturday night in a three-car crash on FM 1925 and Uresti Road.

Police officers responded to the scene around 6:30 p.m., on April 20th.

Reports indicate that a collision involved three vehicles: a silver Chevrolet Malibu, a black Chevrolet Tahoe, and a white Chevrolet Camaro.

According to investigators, the driver of the Malibu was traveling eastbound on FM 1925 when they lost control of the vehicle, veering into the westbound lanes and colliding with a mailbox and fence.

Following closely behind, the Camaro attempted to avoid the Malibu but ended up crashing into the westbound Tahoe instead.

A passenger in the Malibu, identified as 49-year-old Garcia, succumbed to their injuries at the scene. The driver of the Malibu fled on foot without providing assistance or notifying authorities.

Meanwhile, four occupants of the Tahoe and the Camaro’s driver sustained minor injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The suspect remains at large, and anyone with information is urged to contact the Texas Department of Public Safety at 956-565-7600.
