The weather has cleared up after a refreshing winter rain storm moved through Los Angeles this week, so you know it's time to party.

The Los Angeles Police Department and other area agencies will be on the lookout for drunk drivers, so don't party too much and then get behind the wheel.

“DUI checkpoints bring a laser focus to communities where DUI traffic collisions are occurring that are preventable through education and enforcement,” the LAPD said in a statement tonight.

The department argues that publicizing its checkpoints could inspire partygoers to think twice about driving after having one too many; it could save lives.

With that in mind, here's your DUI enforcement cheat sheet for the weekend:

-Tonight from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m., extra LAPD cops will hit the streets of the department's 77th Street Division area, which includes the core of South L.A. The LAPD calls this a DUI “saturation patrol.”

-Tonight from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m., a DUI checkpoint will be awaiting your arrival on Olympic Boulevard at Sunbury Street next to L.A. Live and Staples Center downtown.

-Saturday from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m., a checkpoint will be running on Ventura Boulevard at Columbus Avenue in Sherman Oaks.

-Saturday from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m., Covina police say they'll be operating a checkpoint at an undisclosed location in their fair city.

-Saturday from 6 p.m. to 3 a.m., the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department will have a checkpoint running at an undisclosed location in the city of Compton.

Be safe.
