The journey to becoming a board-certified surgeon is not for the faint-hearted. The American Board of Thoracic Surgery (ABTS) details board certification and recognizes the high standards and distinction associated with such certification.

Dr. Parameswaran took a bold step by pursuing postgraduate studies at the Yale School of Medicine Integrated Thoracic Surgery Residency, stepping directly into cardiothoracic (CT) surgery immediately after medical school. This specialized training gave her a refined focus and knowledge of cardiothoracic surgery.

A testament to her distinguished capabilities, at the time of her application, she was one of only two applicants admitted to the Yale School of Medicine program out of approximately 25 medical school graduates accepted into Integrated CT Surgery residencies nationwide.
