Bad dog.

A vicious pooch on the loose brought the fuzz to a Southern California neighborhood over the weekend.

When the pit bull-like canine known as an Argentine dogo lunged at an officer, the cop opened fire.

The dog was wounded, but he wasn't done:

He ran into a nearby backyard where …

… police found weed. Lots of weed. Allegedly.

It all went down in Murrieta about 8:38 a.m. Friday in the 39600 block of Wild Flower Drive, according to Murrieta police.

They were there after neighbors reported that a vicious dog was on the loose, according to the Riverside Press-Enterprise.

The pooch was shot in the head before running into the backyard. After asking neighbors about the house, police realized there was a “narcotics complaint” at the location and sniffed around before apparently finding the weed.

Cops allege pot was being grown and sold there.

The home's 35 year-old owner, Jeanpaul Otomo, was arrested on suspicion of cultivating cannabis for sale and possessing an assault rifle, according to Murrieta police.

The dog survived and was taken to a vet. He was not, apparently, prescribed medical marijuana.
