Hey kids, treat your dads right! Their Hallmark holiday comes up this Sunday, June 21, so here are some venues where you can honor thy father. Or at least treat him to a burger and beer.

Royal/T, the Japanese maid-themed café and art space, is… oh, who cares. We've said enough. Does Royal/T really NEED to do anything special on Father's Day? But if you're OK with sullying your PC rep, the place is offering Build-Your-Own “East or West” Burger with Euro or Asian-inspired toppings. The $12-16 holiday meal includes — guess what? — complimentary beer.

8910 Washington Blvd., Culver City, (310) 559-6300 or www.royal-t.org.

Perennial favorite Gus's BBQ in South Pas will serve brunch from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. The menu featuring the traditional Gus's repertoire will be served, along with mint juleps and some special items.

808 Fair Oaks Ave., South Pasadena, (626) 799-3251 or www.gussbbq.com.

Wilshire Restaurant is taking the holiday as the opportunity to reignite its Sunday Night Barbecue summer tradition from June 21 through Labor Day weekend on September 6. Chef Andrew Kirschner grill tricks include Santa Maria tri-tip, Andouille sausage made in-house, baby back ribs, and sides with a summer vibe such as corn on the cob, potato salad, and various grilled veggies from local farmers' markets. Pastry Chef Jen Shen also honors the season with fruit cobblers, ice cream sundaes and other calorie-packed things that are totally worth it.

2454 Wilshire Blvd., Santa Monica, (310) 586-1707 or www.wilshirerestaurant.com.

Father's Day can be very posh affair at the Peninsula in Beverly Hills. The hotel offers a Barbecue Jazz Brunch at The Belvedere and Barbecue Dinner at The Roof Garden with menus by Executive Chef James Overbaugh. The brunch, served from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., sounds like a crazy meat fest. Plus the $75 per person cost includes bottomless flutes of Piper Heidsieck — finally, someone doesn't assume champagne is only for the ladies — and many microbrews to choose from. The four-course prix fixe dinner starts at 4:00 on the roof, and is $55 per (exclusive of tax and gratuity).

9882 Santa Monica Blvd., Beverly Hills, (310) 551-2888 or www.peninsula.com.

And please don't forget our city's many beloved manly classics! Taylor's, The Palm, Pacific Dining Car are all open on Sunday, although you might have to make it an early dinner rather than brunch. (Too bad Musso's doesn't make an exception and open this Sunday.)

But no need to think too narrowly. More fab choices that come to mind include Wurstküche (please pardon the crass symbolism), Bottega Louie and Canele. Or plan your meal around an excursion via Metro to La Grande Orange in Pasadena. Or a dim sum brunch is always festive, and at King Hua you can get started on the early side at 10 a.m.

Who says Father's Day has to be about red meats and Naugahyde?
