Venice's Abbot Kinney Boulevard is deservedly known as the party-place each month on First Fridays, but for the dance community, the Electric Lodge tucked away behind AKB is the go-to spot on the first Monday of the month. The brainchild of innovative choreographers Cid Pearlman, David King and Marcus Kuiland-Lozario, Max 10 has taken on a life of its own as 10 performers are given 10 minutes max (hence the series' title) to strut their stuff. The efforts range from debuts to known figures trying something new. A post performance reception with the performers gives audience members a chance for feedback and a beer included in the $10 ticket price.

First Monday of every month, 7:30 p.m. Starts: Nov. 2. Continues through July 5, 2009
