Calling all fans of vintage scooters, go-go boots and spiffy retro suits, this Friday marks the beginning of Mods Mayday, when all of the above come together to ride and rock around town. Believe or not, this celebration of Quadrophenia-esque culture happens all around the world, but here on the West Coast, it's always extragroovy. There's a fleet of events next weekend (check here for info), but before that, underground fave The Bullet, now at the Hollywood Studio Bar & Grill, gets ya nice and revved up this Saturday. Live bands The Sweet Nothings (tripping out with psych and freak beats) and The New Fidelity (playing '60s covers and Stax-y originals) will get things shaking, as will DJs Go Go Guillermo, Souldshaker, Dan Electro, DJ Kev and Jason Pandora spinning '60s Motown, Northern Soul, Garage and Mod gems, all from vinyl (natch). With vintage drink prices, booth seating and a medium dance floor in the middle of the room, expect a jam both inside and out of this one. Inside the Gower Gulch, 6122 Sunset Blvd., Hlywd.; Sat., May 1, 9 p.m. www.facebook.com/thebullet.
