Cody Belew’s debut album, “I Did It for Love,” emerges as a passionate exploration of love and identity, intricately tied to his Southern roots. Hailing from Arkansas, Cody’s Southern identity profoundly influences his sound. Like a modern-day rhinestone cowboy, he draws inspiration from the rich musical traditions surrounding him—blues from St. Louis, jazz from New Orleans, and gospel influences that resonate throughout the region.

He articulates, “For me to say that I’m Southern Glam Rock is the ultimate truth. If it shines and sparkles, then I want to wear it, and if it’s a blend of all of those aforementioned sounds, then I want to sing it.” This ethos shines through in his work, where his elegant vocals and bold, guitar-centered compositions create a distinctively dazzling sound infused with both rebelliousness and glamour that embodies a unique spirit that inhabits rock and country music alike, one I’m sure you’ll easily identify in this album.
