The Eastsider L.A. brings discouraging word that not only has Los Angeles City College dropped plans to build a satellite campus at the old Van de Kamp's bakery site, but on Tuesday night an L.A. College District official promised a community meeting “that the fence surrounding what is currently called the Northeast Campus
will be decorated with cupcakes, cookies and sheaves of wheat in honor
of the bakery.”
Change you can taste, in other words. Blaming the economy, LACC says it will now only lease out one part of its Glassell Park property to a jobs resource center and another part to a charter school.
