Chromista is a production company focused on creative content that brings together storytelling, film, advertising, and brand content. Larissa Cortes is Chromista’s creative producer, and she is passionate about working with artists and filmmakers to make content that “sparks conversation” while delivering the client’s brand message.
“I love producing projects that inspire, connect, and push culture forward while serving a brand’s vision,” Cortes says.

Blending Artistry With Commercial Work
As the creative producer, Cortes makes certain she understands the client’s objectives for the project and what they desire to achieve in the final product. Sometimes, this means striving to see beyond the client’s initial directive to find the right tone for the project.
Cortes focuses on building trust and confidence with clients, which is vital to a successful project. Once that is established, Cortes puts together the perfect team to translate the client’s brief into a production that will capture the essence of the brand. This makes clients feel safe and willing to take the risks that produce “memorable work.”
“I want the client to feel confident that I’ll assemble the strongest team, director, DP, producers, and crew, who can bring their vision to life. At the same time, my priority is protecting and amplifying my director’s creative voice. That balance of trust and advocacy from development through post is what takes an idea from abstract to on-screen with integrity,” Cortes explains.
Every Chromista project is approached with the same creative standards used in cinematic productions, and the company has the infrastructure to support the directors on Chromista’s roster. Cortes focuses on balancing the client’s needs with the director’s creativity while staying within budget. It’s all worth it when Cortes sees the final product on the screen as the creative vision becomes reality.

Amplifying Emerging Voices
Cortes has the pleasure of working with directors who can take the client’s brief and shape it into a bold vision that is “culturally resonant” and “commercially effective,” though she feels there is a lack of representation from minority voices. POC, women, and others without access to the industry face significant barriers. She believes that creative production’s evolution lies at the “intersection of tech and culture,” and she wants to use those tools to champion emerging voices and unknown talent. She is inspired by people like Alejandro Iñárritu, who have brought their trusted group of collaborators with them on their career journey.
“That sense of loyalty and community really resonates with me as a producer. And of course, his being Mexican makes it even more meaningful. It’s inspiring to see someone from my culture making such an impact globally,” Cortes says.
By advocating for those who are underrepresented in the industry, Cortes aspires to bring their authentic voices to Chromista. She believes that the authenticity and perspectives of minority voices can “bring more relatability and truth” to brand projects, which will resonate with audiences.
“I’ve always had a strong voice and a drive to champion creativity. Creative producing drew me in, naturally, because it lets me amplify the work of artists I truly believe in, and Chromista felt like the perfect place for me to do that! Their roster and network are incredible, and joining them was truly a dream come true,” says Cortes.
