Car Crash near Powers Street Kills Child in Toy Car

MARSHALL, TX (September 27, 2023) – Monday evening, a car accident on Lower Port Caddo Road claimed the life of a child riding a toy car.

The Marshall Emergency Communications received reports of the incident at around 6:40 p.m. at the 2000 block of Lower Port Caddo Road near Powers Street.

Upon arrival, the officers learned that a vehicle collided with a battery-powered toy car driven by a child. However, the circumstances surrounding the crash remain unclear.

Unfortunately, the child sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene. The authorities have not publicly identified the deceased child.

Police said the involved driver stayed at the site of the incident and cooperated with the investigators.
