A fight between three men on Valentine's Day, left one dead in North Hollywood. According to police reports, the physical altercation began around 1:15 a.m. on Vanowen Street near Lankershim Boulevard.

During the struggle, one of the men pulled out a handgun and shot and killed 18-year-old Carlos Martinez of Pacoima. The two Hispanic murder suspects believed to be between 17 to 23 years of age fled the scene. Martinez was taken to a nearby hospital where he died.
